Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data we collect through ComparaAcum.ro, why, on what legal basis, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU Regulation 2016/679).

1. Who we are (data controller)

ComparaAcum.ro is an independent price comparison platform for insurance, energy and internet services in Romania. Contact: via the Contact page. Full company identification details will be published on this page once registration is finalised.

2. What data we collect

• When you create an account: name, email address and password (stored encrypted — we never see it in plain text).
• Expiry reminders: contract type (car insurance, energy, gas, internet, etc.), provider, policy/contract number (optional) and expiry date — exactly the data you enter.
• Search history: the categories and criteria you use when comparing offers, while signed in.
• Technical data: anonymised usage data via Google Analytics.

3. Purpose and legal basis

• Managing your account and showing your history — basis: performing the service you requested.
• Sending expiry reminders by email (30, 7 and 1 day before) — basis: your consent, given when you add a reminder.
• Marketing emails (tips, offers) — only if you explicitly opt in; you can withdraw anytime.

4. How long we keep your data

We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (profile, reminders, history) is permanently and irreversibly erased.

5. Where data is stored

Account data is hosted via Supabase on EU-based infrastructure. Reminder emails are sent through an email service provider. These processors handle data solely on our instructions.

6. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to: access, rectification, erasure ("right to be forgotten"), restriction of processing, data portability and withdrawal of consent. You can exercise them as follows:

• Access / portability: the "Download my data" button in your account.
• Erasure: the "Delete my account permanently" button in your account.
• Any other request: via the Contact page.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP).

7. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always available on this page, with the last-updated date shown above.
